Dr. Gregg L. Andrews Biography
Since August 1995, Dr. Gregory L. Andrews has been leading Kent State Tuscarawas as dean and chief administrative officer. Under his leadership, enrollment at Kent State Tuscarawas has increased by nearly 150 percent, numerous new degree programs have been developed and several expansions and renovations of our facilities have been completed, including the construction of our state-of-the-industry Science and Advanced Technology Center and our world-class Performing Arts Center.
In addition to Dr. Andrews' commitment to the campus, he is an involved leader in the Kent State University eight-campus system and various community organizations. He volunteers his time to the Stark/Tuscarawas Regional Workforce Investment Board, the Tuscarawas County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and the Tuscarawas County Community Improvement Corporation (CIC) Board of Directors, among others. As a CIC member, Andrews was instrumental in the Knowledge Based Economic Development initiative, and along with Dr. Heinz Stucki, established the plan for the CIC's Tuscarawas Regional Technology Park which has been developed adjacent to the campus.
He is also a member of Alpha Kappa Delta (International Sociology Honor Society), Pi Gamma Mu (International Honor Society for the Social Sciences) and Epsilon Pi Tau (Honorary for Professions in Technology).
Prior to his appointment at Kent State Tuscarawas, Andrews served as the Kent State Stark director of special programs and continuing studies, and also taught sociology. He earned his Doctor of Philosophy Degree in sociology, bachelor's and associate of arts degrees from Kent State University, and a master's degree from the University of Akron.
